TRAINING DIVISION
It is the goal of the Training Division to provide
comprehensive and realistic training to the Department's members so they can
continue to provide the residents of the Borough
The Training Division will conduct annual training for Department Members to maintain OSHA Mandated Training and also training to maintain state certifications in both fire and emergency medical services. These requirements along with monthly training classes will make up our Four-Tier Training Curriculum. The Training Division of the Runnemede Fire Department is an approved eligible training organization by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety.
Below is our Four-Tier Training Curriculum.

Level One - Recruit Training:
Recruit training will be conducted by a member of the Training Division to new members and member's who have not completed State Requirements for Firefighter One. It will cover department operations and apparatus/equipment familiarity. This training will be conducted monthly and posted.
Level Two - Walk in Training:Walk in training will take place once a month on the fourth Wednesday of each month. It is open to all members. This training will be based on basic firefighter skills that have been learned and senior officers deem necessary to review to increase operational effectiveness and readiness.
Level Three - Monthly Department Training:
Monthly Department Training will be conducted on the second Wednesday during the morning and on the third Monday of each month in the evening. This training is based on an annual curriculum. This curriculum will cover annual certifications and department minimum requirements for the department operational functions.
Level Four - Live
Operations Training:
A posted procedure for requesting outside training is located on the Information Board and all needed forms and are also located in this same area.

Mission StatementGoals of the Alliance
Create uniformity in training operations among three Departments
Adopt (1) standard operating procedure for all (3) departments to facilitate disciplined & cohesive operations on the fire ground.
Offset financial impacts of individual Department training
Increase the level and quality of services provided to our communities
To provide the (3) communities within the region with expanded service beyond fire suppression.
Enhance training and increase qualified manpower levels in areas such as technical rescue
Utilize training as a catalyst to further shared services amongst the (3) Departments
Review each Department’s existing policies and procedures with all members of the Alliance in a classroom setting
Create 2 monthly multi-Department drills (1 day time drill / 1 night time drill)
Open each Department’s regular training up to all Alliance members
Review all apparatus within the Alliance and ensure compatibility with all hose lines along with all hydrants located in the (3) municipalities
Conduct multi-Department hands-on evolutions using the existing procedures of all (3) Departments
Continue (2) monthly multi-Department drills (1 day time drill / 1 night time drill)
Create separate training for technical rescue incidents for qualified personnel
Review data collected through the multi-Department training
and develop uniform training and operating guidelines, policies, and
procedures
Phase III (October 2008 – March 2009)
Meet
with all Chiefs and Company Officers within the Alliance to review and
implement new training and operating guidelines, policies, and procedures
Through
training, implement the new Alliance Operating Guideline
Periodically
evaluate performance during training evolutions
Implement
the Alliance Operating Guideline into day-to-day operations
